What Are Red Cubes?

Unlike Blue Cubes which are purely collectibles, Red Cubes in Opposite Day 2 actually affect how the game plays. Each of the 10 levels contains exactly one Red Cube, hidden in locations that are often more difficult to reach than Blue Cubes.

The developers have never officially explained what Red Cubes do, leading to extensive community theorizing and testing. Here's what we've discovered:

Known Effects

  • Control Sensitivity: Some Red Cubes seem to slightly reduce the "opposite" effect, making controls feel more natural
  • Gravity Modifiers: Certain Red Cubes affect gravity strength in their respective levels
  • Hidden Paths: A few Red Cubes unlock previously invisible platforms
  • Endgame Content: Collecting all 10 is required to access the true final area

Location Hints

Each Red Cube is located in the most difficult-to-reach area of its level. Unlike Blue Cubes which have multiple spawn points, Red Cubes are always singular and require mastery of that level's specific mechanics.

Coordinates are relative grid estimates (0,0 at the level start). Use them for route planning and quick callouts during 100% runs.
