The Precision Test
Level 4 is a crucible. Every skill you've learned so far will be tested with demanding precision. The platforms are smaller, the gaps are wider, and there's no room for sloppy movement. If you've been getting by with approximate jumps and lucky landings, this level will force you to improve.
The good news: Level 4 introduces checkpoints. You won't have to restart from the beginning when you fail—and you will fail. Multiple times. That's okay. The checkpoints are there to encourage experimentation.
Key Mechanics in Level 4
- Micro-Platforms: Some platforms are barely larger than your character. Land in the center.
- Chain Jumps: Multiple jumps in quick succession with no safe landing between them.
- Checkpoints: Glowing markers that save your position within the level.
- Floating Cubes: First appearance of cube collectibles that require mid-air collection.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Step 1: The Opening Gauntlet
Level 4 starts immediately with a series of tiny platforms. There's no warm-up—just three micro-platforms in a row with gaps that require precise jumps. The key is to tap your movement keys briefly, not hold them. A held key will overshoot.
Remember your reversed controls: tap LEFT briefly to move right, press DOWN to jump. Release keys quickly to stop momentum.
Step 2: The First Checkpoint
After the opening gauntlet, you'll reach a larger platform with a glowing checkpoint marker. Walk through it to activate it. From now on, if you fall, you'll respawn here instead of the start.
Step 3: Floating Cube Sequence
This section introduces a new challenge: Blue Cubes floating in mid-air. You need to jump through them while also landing on the next platform. Plan your trajectory to collect the cube AND survive the landing.
Pro tip: Focus on the landing first. You can always come back for cubes on subsequent runs. Survival matters more than collection.
Step 4: The Chain Jump Section
The hardest part of Level 4 is a chain of five consecutive jumps with no safe platform between them. You jump from one micro-platform to the next, with no time to stop and plan. This requires rhythm and muscle memory.
Practice rhythm: Jump-tap-jump-tap-jump-tap-jump-tap-jump. Each "tap" is a brief LEFT input to adjust right, followed immediately by the next DOWN for a jump.
Step 5: The Secret Room
Before the exit, there's a hidden room accessible through a fake wall on the floor. Fall through (press UP to drop faster) and you'll land in a secret area with a Blue Cube. Return to the main path via a spring platform.
Collectibles in Level 4
- Blue Cube #1: Mid-air collection during floating cube sequence
- Blue Cube #2: Secret room through fake floor before exit
- Red Cube: Requires chain-jumping to an off-screen platform on the right edge
Pro Tips for Level 4
- Tap, Don't Hold: Brief key taps give you much more control than held inputs.
- Land Center: Always aim for the center of platforms. Edge landings are risky.
- Use Checkpoints: Don't stress about perfection. Checkpoints let you practice difficult sections repeatedly.
- Build Rhythm: Chain jumps are easier when you treat them as rhythmic patterns.
- Practice! Many players consider Level 4 essential training for the harder levels ahead.
